Since the closure of BT coast radio stations, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency were tasked to provide the Navtex service aad medical links on VHF MF and satellite comms. MRCC Falmouth was tasked to become the Navtex co-ordinator approx. 2 years ago and we have done huge amount of work to improve the system. As well as a 518Khz. service, we aiso provide service on 490Khz A you are aware we control the three sites, Niton, Cullercoats and Portpatrick from MRCC Falmouth here in Cornwall.
